Information Technology Challenge Award Scheme
Our school implements a school-based Computer Studies curriculum. The educational objectives covered by the curriculum extend to Key Stage 3, which corresponds to the Secondary 1 to Secondary 3 level under the Education Bureau's curriculum framework.
In addition to developing students' computer knowledge, skills and attitudes, the Computer Studies curriculum places particular emphasis on connections between information technology and other subjects. This enables learning in Computer Studies and other subject areas to complement one another and enhance students' overall learning.
The school-based curriculum gives our school greater flexibility in curriculum design without being constrained by publisher-produced materials. As a result, our Computer Studies curriculum is more diverse and advanced.
Students in Primary 1 to Primary 3 learn computer programming, while students in Primary 4 to Primary 6 study more advanced programming and take part in an innovative school-based STEAM curriculum funded by the Quality Education Fund.
A key focus of programming education is the development of computational thinking. Students learn to break a problem down into smaller problems and then work out ways to solve them one by one.
