Primary and Secondary Schools STEM Innovation Exhibition 2019 Co-organized by the Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers and STEM PLUS, the 'Primary and Secondary Schools STEM Innovation Exhibition' was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Our school was invited to participate alongside 120 schools across Hong Kong to display STEM learning outcomes.
Our featured exhibit was 'Ocean Guardian', created by students from our Robotics Engineer Team. Addressing current marine pollution, students simulated real-world environments under teacher guidance to co-develop and build a 'Marine Waste-Collecting Robot'.
During the exhibition, students used a water basin to simulate the ocean and placed styrofoam pieces inside to represent marine pollutants. They personally introduced their creation and design concepts to visitors while using remote controllers to demonstrate steering the robot across the water to collect waste. Our booth was honored with a visit and guidance from the Permanent Secretary for Education.
This event not only provided a platform for students to showcase their learning achievements, but also gave them opportunities to exchange design ideas with peer schools, share STEM insights, and absorb high-quality educational practices across the academic sector—greatly benefiting their growth in the STEM field.
